The first meeting between AgID and the Pontifical Athenaeum Antonianum, foreseen in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two institutions, took place today.

In a context of rapid technological change, the Heads of Agreement between the two institutions establishes a strategic cooperation for the in-depth analysis of the legal and social implications of current legislation.

One of the joint initiatives regards the establishment of an Observatory for Digital Diplomacy, Integral Intelligence, Consciousness and Technological Dignity, an ambitious and innovative project aimed at supporting the common need to promote greater awareness and understanding of new digital rights and their social, legal and cultural implications. Through research, development, monitoring and dissemination activities, the Observatory aims to promote dialogue between digital cultures, analysing the complexity of thought, the historicity and culture of data, with a focus on interoperability and digital diplomacy. In an era of rapid technological change, the project intends to provide a concrete contribution to the study of international law and digital citizenship, consolidating the value of knowledge as a tool for building a fairer, more aware and public-spirited society.

"This cooperation Agreement represents an important opportunity for a fruitful and strategic collaboration to broaden the analysis of the legal and social implications of the law in relation to new technologies," said Mario Nobile, Director General of AgID. "I am sure that the joint work will contribute to generating positive impacts, strengthening the dialogue between law and technology and promoting the dissemination of knowledge and expertise in such crucial areas."

"The Observatory aims to be a flagship for addressing the challenges of the digital age, promoting an inclusive and conscious dialogue between technology and humanity," said Prof. Agustín Hernández Vidales, OFM, Rector Magnificus of the Pontifical University Antonianum, underlining the crucial role of this initiative in shaping the future of digital relations worldwide.
