The new website, funded by the NRRP Measure 1.4.2 ‘Inclusion of citizens’ - Improving accessibility of digital public services, is online.

The site aims to become the reference point for digital accessibility in Italy, sharing information, kits, statistical data and training content. It represents AgID's commitment to promoting inclusiveness and equality in the digital world, accompanying both public and private institutions on the path towards an accessible web for all.

Why is accessibility important?

Accessibility is essential to build a fair digital environment, where every citizen can use services and information easily and efficiently.

Italian legislation, including Law No. 4/2004, assigns AgID the task of monitoring and promoting accessibility in public administration websites and mobile applications with the aim of making them usable by anyone, in any condition.

A digital hub for all

The website has been structured to meet the needs of different users, offering specific content and resources for public administrations, private entities, citizens, designers and developers. It contains a training section for in-depth discussion of accessibility issues and information on regulatory obligations.

With the introduction of the new site, the monitoring-related content was migrated to the address https://monitoraggio.accessibilita.agid.gov.it.

Monitoring activity: latest data

The latest automated monitoring, carried out quarterly by AgID, analysed a total of 164,000 sites and over 26 million web pages. About 340 sites and 90 apps were also subjected to more detailed monitoring, which enabled the identification of the 20 most frequent errors that will be addressed in future training sessions.

Data on accessibility declarations show that in 2024, 17,249 declarations of accessibility were submitted and published by public administrations, a significant increase over the previous year.
