Over the past few days, AgID hosted CEN Committees TC 434 and TC 440 meeting, in charge of standardising procedures at European level in the field of electronic invoicing and e-procurement).
CEN is the standards body that works in accordance with the policies of the European Union, with the aim of harmonising and producing European technical standards (i.e. homogeneous in all member countries) in cooperation with national and supranational standards bodies.
The technical standards developed by the CEN committees respond to the general European objective of achieving a fully digital procurement system that allows dialogue and interoperability between the different national systems.
AgID plays a crucial role in defining and publishing the technical rules that guide Italy's digital transformation and is committed to ensuring that these rules support the country's innovation within the broader European framework.
In the context of the revision of our public procurement legislation, AgID has recently published the technical rules for Italian e-Procurement digital platforms.
In addition, the Agency plays the role of PEPPOL Authority in Italy for the qualification of entities wishing to become Access Point providers and indicates the national extensions of the PEPPOL BIS specifications for the exchange of messages in compliance with Italian legislation.
The development of the technical standards that the CEN TC 440 and 434 working groups are carrying out in their respective fields is therefore fundamental to AgID's role.
